Pain Is Good
Pain is good for it lets you know you are still alive. It warns you to slow down and take it easy. It lets you know that something is wrong. It makes you stronger in the long run. So for these reasons pain is good.
The reason I pick pain as a topic today is because I have been in a lot of pain. I found out that I have a bulging disk in my neck that gives me pain in my neck as well as headaches. This weekend I had severe pain in my lower back. I spent the most part of the weekend in bed. It hurt to sit, stand, walk, and sleep. Then my neck and headache was there when my back felt some what better. Lousy weekend to say the least.
I have had a lot of emotional pain through out my life. After working through it all I have become stronger and able to cope with things better. Everything we go through whether by our own fault or by accident it helps us learn.
I have learned that we choose what people say to help or hurt us. When we choose to let what people say, hurt us , we usually are miserable also. If we choose to be miserable , the people we come in contact with become miserable as well. I try ( notice I said TRY ) not to let people make me miserable. In doing so I can stay happier and those around me are happier. We all have a ripple effect. Toss a pebble into water and you get a ripple. Our moods are the pebble and life is the water. We affect those around us like the ripple does in water. I've heard the saying don't make waves. I'm tying not to make bad ripples. Good ripples are ok.
As I have stated before I use humor to deal with pain. This allows me to turn bad ripples into good. I guess in all of this what I'm trying to say is , WE choose the mood we are in and It affects those around us.
If we are in pain, we should try to think how our moods, actions or what we say, will affect those around us.
I hope that I have in some way helped others look at pain differently.

You are so right about the ripples. So often we effect the emotions of others by our moods. It is often to not react to the ripples of others, it takes a great deal of patience, understanding, empathy, and turning the other cheek that sometimes isn't easy.
I know I need to remember to laugh more at lifes serious things. Humor is such a good way to keep on going.
Oh I also posted a comment on your story about Jane Clayson and her interview with Billy Grahams daughter
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciate your comments.
It sounds like you've had your fair share of pain and troubles in life. It also sounds like you have gained the wisdom to learn from those experiences -- even those experiences for which you would never choose for yourself to endure.
I've only had time to read the last couple of your posts. I'll be back though, and I will add you to my Blogroll.
